Lea Salonga (geb. 1971) zählt wohl zu den Besten Musicaldarstellerinen die es gibt, mit einer zauberhaften Stimme die ganz bestimmt schon jeder mal gehört hat. Von 1989-1992 spielte sie die Kim in Miss Saigon und erhielt dafür zahlreiche Auszeichnungen. 1993-1996 war sie am Broadway in Les Misérables in der Rolle der Éponine zu sehen. Zwischendurch nahm sie den Weltbekannten Song “A whole new World” für den Disney Film Aladdin auf, der 1993 einen Oscar erhielt. 1994 spielte sie in ihrer Heimat (den Philippinen) zahlreiche Musical Rollen wie Sandy (Grease), Sonia Walks (They’re Playing Our Song) und The Witch (Into The Woods).
Danach war sie wieder in Les Misérables in der Rolle der Éponine zu sehen und nahm eigene CDS auf, die sich in ihrer Heimat großartig verkauften (Mehrfaches Platin). Auch in den Filmen Mulan1 & 2 war sie die Singstimme von Fa Mulan. Im Grunde hat die Lady so ziemlich jede Rolle überall erfolgreich gespielt und jede bedeutende Auszeichnung gewonnen. Inzwischen ist Lea neben ihren zahlreichen Solo Auftritten noch als Journalistin tätig. Hier nun ein paar Videos von Lea Salonga.
