Where were YOU when the clock struck midnight?
When the clock struck midnight I found myself alone in the Kurpark Baden, near Vienna. I was alone there because i couldn't find my friends...they were too drunken and lost in the City : ) So i was alone with hundreds of other people i've never seen before. But next to me there was an old married couple - both 70 or 80 years old and when the clock struck midnight they kissed each other and began to dance : ) It was the first time i was alone at midnight and i can tell you that it isn't realy funny but - seeing these two old happy people next to me was a wonderful moment and it was one of the best thing i've ever seen on a 31. December.

When the clock struck midnight:
Seit einiger Zeit versuche ich hier, meine Gefühle und Eindrücke, die ich in dem Moment des Jahreswechsels hatte, niederzuschreiben. ich habe die Zeilen immer wieder gelöscht... Nun habe ich einen Satz gefunden, welcher meine Gefühle in diesem Augenblick am besten berschreibt: "Ich sehe die Sterne der Freundschaft in der schwarzen Nacht der leeren Herzen magisch glitzern."
Like every year, I celebrated the 31st December in Münchendorf near Vienna with my family and our friends. At midnight we are normally watching the viennese waltz, drinking champagne and eating sepcial biscuit fishes. They are said to be a good luck charm for the new year. Well this year we nearly missed midnight because our friends where to focused on their new dog and everyone has forgotten to think about the fishes... Maybe their missing brings more luck to me than last year, at least I hope so
Ich war auf der Terasse meiner Freunden mit 3 anderen Pärchen und haben geschlossen den Jahreswechsel küssend verbracht.... auch sehr seltsam => also auch etwas ruhiger... erst später gings dann richtig los und aus diesem grund => lieber Flo ( nicht ich) mögen deine Hosen trocknen und dein Handy wieder funktionieren

I don't remember.. The way it should be.
New Years Eve we held a party at our place for a few friends. We included a two stage fireworks display. The second part was fired off at midnight, but by 12:25am we had set a field alight and one of the guests broke their collar bone
WHAT A PARTY!!! In the end it was a rogue firework which shot out sideways instead of upwards. One bit shot into a field and immediately set the grass alight, me and a mate clambered over to stomp the flames out whilst one of the guests managed to get over a fence and break his collar bone trying to get to us to help. Beat that!!
