Mit der aktuellen Single California Gurls ist der 25 Jährigen Katy Perry wieder mal ein weltweiter Chart Erfolg gelungen. In den Kanadischen Charts und in den US Billboard Hot 100 Charts steht der Song derzeit auf Platz 1. Auch in Australien, Finnland und Neuseeland liegt der Song auf Toppositionen. Produziert wurde der Song von Dr. Luke, Max Martin und Benny Blanco. Unterstützt wird Katy Perry in dem Song von Cordozar Calvin Broadus - besser bekannt als Snoop Dogg.
